1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Pip mobile app, the Pip website at trypip.ai, and related support communications. In this policy, "Pip," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the team that makes Pip.
If we add a feature that needs additional data or a different use of data, we will update this policy or provide an additional notice before you use that feature.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Moment text. When you ask Pip to make a meditation, you may type what is looping in your mind. This can include sensitive feelings or relationship details if you choose to write them.
- Generated meditations and preferences. Pip may process the meditation it creates, playback state, selected soundscape, saved items, and settings so the app works for you.
- Support messages. If you email us, we collect your email address and the contents of your message so we can respond.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app information. We may collect device type, operating system, app version, language, approximate region, and crash or diagnostic logs.
- Usage information. We may collect basic events such as app opens, feature use, and whether a meditation request succeeded. We use this to operate, debug, and improve Pip.
- Website logs. Our hosting providers may process IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps when you visit the website.
Website cookies and analytics
The website uses one strictly necessary cookie, lang_pref, which remembers the language you choose so the site can greet you in it next time. It holds nothing else and is not used for tracking.
With your consent, the website also uses Google Analytics to understand which pages help people — things like page views and language choices. This only happens after you accept it in the cookie notice, and your answer is stored in a small consent cookie, pip_consent. You can change your mind anytime through the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer. Declining changes nothing about how the site works.
Information we do not collect by default
Pip is designed to work without an account at launch. We do not collect your contacts, precise location, camera, photos, microphone recordings, or Apple Health data unless a future feature clearly asks for permission first.
Payments
If you buy a subscription or trial through the App Store, Apple processes the payment. We do not receive your full credit card number. We may receive purchase status, transaction identifiers, and subscription state from Apple so we can unlock paid features and support your purchase.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- generate, deliver, save, and play the meditations you request;
- operate, maintain, secure, and debug Pip;
- respond to support requests;
- understand whether features work and improve the app experience;
- process subscriptions, trials, and entitlements through Apple;
- detect abuse, fraud, security issues, or service misuse;
- comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your moment text. We do not use your moment text for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
4. AI and service providers
Pip uses software and infrastructure providers to operate the app. This may include AI model providers, text-to-speech or voice providers, hosting providers, analytics providers, crash reporting tools, and customer support tools.
When you ask Pip to make a meditation, the words you submit and related app context may be sent to these providers so they can generate and deliver the meditation. They process this information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own advertising.
We do not intentionally use your moment text to train public AI models unless we first ask for your permission or provide a separate notice that clearly explains the choice.
6. Your choices
- What you type. You choose what to write into Pip. Do not include information you do not want processed for the meditation request.
- App permissions. If a future feature asks for a device permission, you can manage that permission in iOS Settings.
- Subscriptions. You can manage or cancel App Store subscriptions through your Apple ID settings.
- Marketing. If we offer email updates, you can opt out using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the app, support, security, legal compliance, and resolving disputes.
Moment text and generated meditations may be stored on your device if you save them. Server-side request data, logs, and diagnostics are retained only as long as needed for app functionality, troubleshooting, safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or internal improvement.
You can request deletion by emailing us. We may need to keep limited information where required by law, security, billing, dispute resolution, or legitimate business recordkeeping.
8. Privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; or appeal a privacy request decision.
If information you type into Pip is considered consumer health data under an applicable law, we collect and use it only to provide the app features you request, maintain and secure the service, comply with law, and the other limited purposes described in this policy. We do not sell consumer health data.
To make a request, email us at the address below. We may ask for information needed to verify and complete your request.
9. Children
Pip is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No internet or mobile service is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Pip and its providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
11. Contact
Questions, deletion requests, and privacy requests can be sent to hello@meetpip.app. Please include "Privacy Request" in the subject line so we can route it correctly.
